For my son's 2nd birthday party with friends, I did a Jungle Safari Birthday Theme for him. I made each child's handprint into a safari animal picture to give them as a special Thanks for Coming party favor. Since the birthday boy got to be King of the Jungle for the day, I made him a special Footprint Lion Keepsake. To make it, I traced around his foot onto yellow card stock and then cut it out. Then, I placed it on top of orange card stock and drew in a mane around the heel (head). After I cut the mane out, I glued the yellow footprint on top of it. I pressed my son's white painted thumbprints where the whiskers come out of and drew in the facial features on when it dried. I realized I totally forgot to put the lion's tail in so I will have to do that later! For the black background, I used a Martha Stewart's Page Punch (so easy to use!).
Variation: Instead of tracing & cutting the footprint, you could make a footprint using yellow paint & then paint on the orange mane.
