Are you ready for Easter? It's been kind of sneaking up on me because it falls pretty early this year. But luckily, there are tons of simple Easter crafts you can do quickly with your kids. We've just discovered this fingerprint resist technique and made fingerprint Easter egg cards!
They only took a few minutes to make, the process was really fun {yes, even for me!}, and the cards turned out really pretty.

How to make the Fingerprint Easter Egg Cards
Materials Needed:
- Two sheets of heavyweight construction paper in different colors.
- Scissors.
- Paint. {We used eight different colors of acrylic paint, but I think using just one color would look nice, too. Other types of paint work as well, you just want to make sure it's not too runny to minimize bleeding under the templates.}
- Sticky tape.
- Wet wipes to wipe off your fingers in between colors.
- Printable Egg Template
Print the eggs template on one sheet of construction paper and cut out as many egg shapes as you need. Cut the other piece of construction paper in half, then fold it over to make a simple card. Tape the egg shape to the front of your card. I used four loops of sticky tape per egg to minimize bleeding.
Put a little paint on a paper plate, dip your finger in it, and make prints all around the egg shape and on the card.
Let dry completely before gently removing the template.
Depending on your kids' ages, results may vary. I did this with two 5-year-olds and a 3-year-old, and they each ended up with very different cards. I loved the variety!
I simply left the egg templates on the kids' cards for a different look.
My 5-year-old daughter did this:
Her 5-year-old friend followed my instructions of making fingerprints around the egg shape and added a smiley face:
The 3-year-old was very protective of her artwork so I didn't get a good picture, but she had a whole different take on this craft and focused more on decorating the egg with her fingerprints.
