HHpw to make a cute Pete the Cat fingerprint ornament with kids for Christmas

Instructions:

Use Mod Podge to paint the inside of the ornament. Stick on the tissue paper squares going back over it with more Mod Podge as you go. Let dry.

For the paint, we prefer to use enamel paints. Otherwise you can use acrylic paints and a clear sealant.

Paint the pointer finger with blue. Add on two triangle ears, 2 arms, 2 feet, and a tail.

Once dry, paint on Pete's eyes (use the book or a photo online for reference). Add a small black dot inside each yellow eye. Add an even smaller white dot inside the black dots.

Paint on a white nose. Let dry.

To finish your Pete the Cat fingerprint, use a permanent marker to add a few whiskers.

Add Christmas Ribbon To Sides of Ornament

Optional: add a Christmas themed ribbon around the sides of the ornaments using hot glue. (we used Glue Dots for ours). Don't forget to add a ribbon/string for hanging the finished Pete the Cat ornament on the Christmas tree!

Pete The Cat Saves Christmas

This is a really cute book that we picked up at the Scholastic book fair one year at the kids' school. Santa becomes sick the day before Christmas so he calls Pete to deliver all the presents to the kids. He uses his red minibus instead of a sleigh for the reindeer to pull, which of course he thinks is totally groovy.

It has the message of giving and giving your all, no matter how small.

You can buy the book here. You may also enjoy the Pete the Cat Footprint Craft we made for Christmas a few years ago.
