For an April handprint calendar craft, we made a handprint and thumbprint baby chicks. This adorable craft also fits in with a Spring, Easter, or Farm animal preschool unit. Read on to see how easy they are to make!
April Handprint Calendar
How to make the Chick Handprint:
Paint the hand with yellow paint. Ask the child to hold their hand with the palm facing down and the fingers all touching each other. Press on a sheet of paper. Let dry and then add the face and feet.
How to make Thumbprint Baby Chicks:
Dip the thumbs (or fingertips) into yellow paint or an ink pad. Make a handful of yellow thumbprints. Add feet, wings, eyes, and a beak when dry.
OPTIONAL:
Cut around the prints and glue them to colored construction paper or scrapbook paper. Add 'Happy Easter!' by either writing it on or printing it to glue on.

This is great! I enjoy doing handprint/footprint art with my little one. Such a great way to watch how much they grow, as well as having personalized art work around your house! Your blog is quite inspiring! Love the fingerprint chicks!
