Make a Handprint Dad or Little Man for a Father's Day Canvas Keepsake!
Supplies:
- Canvas
- Cardstock or Construction Paper
- Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Scissors
- Glue
- Black Marker
- Optional: Wipes
Double Handprint Little Man Instructions:
Paint your child’s palm with flesh toned paint and your child’s fingers with a hair color paint. (refer to the photo)
Press your child’s hand down firmly onto the canvas towards the top.
Help your child gently lift their hand off the canvas to avoid smearing the paint.
Allow the handprint to dry completely.
Repeat the steps above but this time, paint your child’s palm a bright color, the pink and thumb finger the same bright color and the middle 3 fingers blue. Paint the pinky and thumb tip a flesh toned color. (refer to the photo)
Allow the handprint to dry completely.
Cut a necktie shape from cardstock or construction paper.
Use a black marker to add detail to the neckties.
Glue the tie onto the the bottom, upside-down handprint.
Next, draw eyes, eyebrows, a nose, and a mouth onto the top handprint with a black marker to create the little man's face.
Create the cheeks by dipping your child’s finger into light pink paint and gently make a print on both sides of the mouth.
Your father’s day handprint craft is complete! You could write, 'Happy Father's Day!' on it or another cute saying such as, 'When I Grow Up, I Want To Be Just Like Daddy!'
