We have been busy making Valentine's Day cards! I already shared the cute thumbprint owl Valentine's Day cards my daughter and I made together. In this post, I am sharing are handprint Valentine's Day owl cards with punny sayings.
I love all the fun play on words for this sweet holiday and I adore owls, so we combined the two into a mommy and me craft. They didn't turn out as cute as I pictured in my head, but I do like the way the pink owl looks.

Supplies:
- construction paper or cardstock
- paint
- paintbrushes
- black marker
Instructions:
Have your child paint their hand (help them if needed). Make a print on the cardstock. Repeat for however many cards you'd like to make. Let dry.
Add eyes, a beak, ears, and feather details on the body. My daughter always wears a flower in her hair, so we added flowers to the top of two of the owl's heads.
Owl Saying for Valentine's Day
Pick a cute owl pun or Valentine's saying to write on each card. You can see even more cute, punny sayings on our thumbprint cards.
Here's what our cards say plus a few other sayings:
- Have a HOOT this Valentine's Day!
- Owl Always Love You! -or- I'll OWL-ways Love You!
- Owl Love You Forever, Valentine
- WHOO Loves You?
- You're a HOOT!
- Owl You Need Is Love
- You're Owl I Need
- I Love You With Owl My Heart
- Owl Always Be You Friend!
- Owl Be Your Valentine
Have you made a Valentine's Day card craft using handprint, footprints, or fingerprints? I would love to hear about it!

These are adorable. We haven't done a lot of handprints/footprints as I can't seem to get the kids to open their hands to make a print and they don't like the feel of paint on their feet - do you have any advice - my children are 2 and a half and 11 months old. Visiting from Red Ted Art

@Rainy Day Mum- maybe trace their hands & cut it out or even fill in with paint. Or put a little bit of the same color paint on your fingertips & hold their fingers open while pressing the hand down. With the 2 yr old, paint his/her hand and then hold your hand open and tell him/her to do the same (so he/she has an example to look it) To make it more enjoyable, have him/her count while
