We made handprint sombreros as a Cinco de Mayo craft this past weekend!
Handprint sombrero I made with my 16 month old.
The kids decided which hand they wanted painted and then made a handprint in the center of the page a little bit more toward the top.
Next, paint a rim around each of their handprints. As I was looking at one of them, I thought about how cute it would look if the rim was a footprint instead. My little ones love painting their feet even more than their hands so I am a little mad at myself for not thinking about it sooner. Next year we will have to make this craft again with the footprint!
I drew a little design on each as well as the outline of a sombrero.
My son and his buddy decorated their sombreros with glitter glue, sequins, and pipe cleaners.
Their finished sombrero crafts turned out so colorful and festive-looking

I love this! My daughter was looking over my shoulder and she was so excited by the idea that I think we'll be having a second Cinco de Mayo celebration...just to make these! I'm going to pin it and share it on my PreschoolPowolPackets Facebook page too! Thanks for linking up at Teach Me Tuesday!!
