How to make a crafty Handprint Vampire Sign

I think Vampires are one of my all time favorite Halloween characters and costumes. We made a Handprint Vampire Sign that reads "Please Come in for a Bite!" It is perfect for a funny Halloween decoration for the kitchen, outside on the door to your home, or on the pantry door like ours.

Handprint Vampire Sign Craft Idea for Halloween

How to make the Handprint Vampire Sign Craft:

  1. Use black to paint the area just beneath the bend in the knuckles.
  2. Next, add a small black triangle-shape on the palm just below the 2 middle fingers.
  3. Then, paint a thin black strip on the edge of both sides of the palm about halfway down {please use the photo for reference}.
  4. Paint the remaining part of the palm white and then press onto a piece of construction paper or cardstock. I placed my hand on top of my son's and gently rocked his fingers from side to side- just a little bit. This was to help fill in the gaps between the fingers and create the hair.
  5. Add googly eyes or draw some on.
  6. Draw a mouth with fangs, a nose, and eyebrows.

Optional:

  1. Cut a square shape around the handprint vampire and glue to another sheet of paper.
  2. Then cut around that paper to create a border.
  3. Use decorative scissors to cut the corners to make it look more like a frame.
  4. Add glitter where the 2 papers meet.
  5. Write a cute Halloween Saying or poem on it.

Here are photos of my then almost 2 year old when he was dress up like a Vampire.
