I think Vampires are one of my all time favorite Halloween characters and costumes. We made a Handprint Vampire Sign that reads "Please Come in for a Bite!" It is perfect for a funny Halloween decoration for the kitchen, outside on the door to your home, or on the pantry door like ours.
How to make the Handprint Vampire Sign Craft:
- Use black to paint the area just beneath the bend in the knuckles.
- Next, add a small black triangle-shape on the palm just below the 2 middle fingers.
- Then, paint a thin black strip on the edge of both sides of the palm about halfway down {please use the photo for reference}.
- Paint the remaining part of the palm white and then press onto a piece of construction paper or cardstock. I placed my hand on top of my son's and gently rocked his fingers from side to side- just a little bit. This was to help fill in the gaps between the fingers and create the hair.
- Add googly eyes or draw some on.
- Draw a mouth with fangs, a nose, and eyebrows.
Optional:
- Cut a square shape around the handprint vampire and glue to another sheet of paper.
- Then cut around that paper to create a border.
- Use decorative scissors to cut the corners to make it look more like a frame.
- Add glitter where the 2 papers meet.
- Write a cute Halloween Saying or poem on it.
Here are photos of my then almost 2 year old when he was dress up like a Vampire.
