I decided to make thumbprint Christmas cards this year since my 4 year old is so into making fingerprints/thumbprints lately. This ended up being such a fun Mommy & Me craft! He thought it was so cool that he was making thumbprints while I was decorated them.
Here are all the different Thumbprint Christmas Cards we made:
Christmas Sayings:
Merry Christmas to Thumb-body Special!
Thumb-body Loves You!
Merry Christmas…… and Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays!
Fingerprint Candy Canes– these are my favorite! He placed one pointer finger in red paint and one pointer finger in white paint and then alternated prints of each in a candy cane design. I drew the wire for the lights with a black marker and used glitter for the lights. My little guy went back over the red prints with red glitter to make them more interesting.
Thumbprint Christmas Tree– even the star and tree trunk are made with thumbprints!
Thumbprint Wreath– Instead of glitter, you could also attach a tiny red bow.
Thumbprint Penguins– my son is obsessed with penguins! The white tummies are made with white fingerprints, just make sure the black is completely dry before doing this part.
Thumbprint Reindeer– we made some with all double print ones in a profile view, some with a single print with the reindeer’s face facing forward, and some with a mix of both. Some had 1 reindeer, some had 4, and so on.
Thumbprint Snowman– You could also do some fingerprint ones to make different sized ones next to each other.
These cards are so cute. I was thinking of making my husband a homemade card from out little boy and I think I’ll borrow one of your cute little designs to do it! Thanks for sharing this! Stopped by from TGIF.
