I have been doing Emotions Activities with my son since April and he absolutely loves it! When I saw Thumbprint Emotions in the book Ed Emberley's Great Thumbprint Drawing Book
, I knew that it would be a big hit with my little guy.... and it was! He chose to use the color yellow and I helped him make 16 thumbprints (he loves to count!). I made some of the emotions the same as in the book, and others the way I had already been doing them in different activities with him. For each emotion, my son says what it is and then acts it out with his own facial expressions, sound effects, and use of hands (in some). You should be able to click the picture to make it bigger, but here are the ones we used just in case:
Happy
Sad
Laughing
Crying
Surprised
Tired
Sleeping
Mad
Scared
Silly
Sick
Worried
Disgusted or Yucky
Thinking or Confused
Shouting (very mad)
