This Mailbox is fun for Valentine's Day or anytime of the year! Kids will love adding their Valentines inside! I purchased it in the dollar section at Target after reading a posting over at Tired, Need Sleep. Be sure to head over there to see the super cute ways her son and his Daddy use this mailbox!
DIY Valentine's Day Mailbox With Thumbprint Bluebirds
I saw Thumbprint Bluebirds (Love Birds) floating around the Internet and thought they would be perfect to decorate my son's Mailbox (and loved that it went well with Valentine's Day and to just use in general). I used Folk Art Enamel Paints because they do not scratch easily after drying. I pressed my son's blue thumbprints in various spots including 2 of them next to each other to create Love Birds (awww!). I let it dry for about 30 minutes and then added the birdie details. I decided to have one of the bluebirds carrying a white envelope and placed an address (1234) on the bottom. On the side with the Thumbprint Love Birds, I wrote "Thumb~one Loves You." So sweet! I love it!
One side of the mailbox opens and there is a flag that goes up and down as well. I can't wait to put his little Valentine's in it and various things throughout the year. It will be exciting for him to mail little drawings to his Papa for him to see when he gets home from work. Thanks Nicole for the great find!

Our Target didn't have those mailboxes. 🙁 I am still going to keep my eyes open for them. Very cute!
