First take the red, white, and blue pipe cleaners and twist them together into one strand. The pipe cleaners form the handle. *Any color combo of pipe cleaners is perfect!
Next, make a loop at the end and twist closed. Then insert the two sparkly silver pipe cleaners into this loop. Twist the loop closed and then twist the silver pipe cleaners all together.
Now it time to add some colorful paper sparklers to the opposite end of the handle. To do this, have the child trace their hands and a little part of their wrist onto red and blue construction paper, then cut them out.
Place the hands next to each other, pinkies and wrists touching and secure with tape.
Use another piece of tape to attach the hands to the pipe cleaners.
The traced hand sparkler is complete! These festive, DIY paper sparklers are fun for a 4th of July party and can easily be made with a group of children such as a playgroup.
