Happy St. Nicholas Day! Last night we made Footprint Stockings with the kids feet. It's such an easy Christmas craft that can be made with toddlers and older. You could even make one as a cute Baby's 1st Christmas keepsake. - Originally published 12/6/2011 and updated 12/13/2018.
How to make the Footprint Stockings Christmas Craft
You'll Need:
- Construction Paper
- Kids Paint
- Paintbrush
- Cotton Balls or Pom Poms
- Scissors
Instructions:
Choose a color for the paint and then have the child paint their foot (or help them if needed).
Press down on a sheet of construction paper in color of choice.
Next, draw a stocking shape around the footprint. Cut around the outline so that you have a stocking shape with a footprint inside it.
Have the child tear cotton balls into pieces. Toddlers love to tear the cotton balls and it makes a great fine motor activity for preschoolers. Alternatively, you could use pom poms.
Place a strip of glue going across the top, then stick the cotton balls on the glue.
That's it! Easy peasy 🙂
Pair this footprint stocking Christmas craft with these adorable handprint mittens! For another fun idea, here's a stocking made with wrapping paper.
