Easy Halloween Handprint and Footprint Ghosts

Last week, we had a ghost themed mommy and me movie day where we watched the movie Casper and did  ghosts crafts & snacks.  As one of the crafts, we made our yearly Footprint Ghost Pictures. This year I decided to make it with a spooky scene. My little guy loves it!

Spooky Halloween Scene with Footprint Ghosts and Hand Shaped Tree

Have the child trace around their hand and arm helping if needed. Next, paint it brown to look like a leafless tree. Cut the hand/arm shape out.

His footprints were made on green construction paper to add some color to the spooky art project. The mouth is a black thumbprint and the eyes are black fingerprints. Let dry and then cut around the footprints.

Create the moon by tracing a circle shape such as a small glass. Glue to a black sheet of construction paper near the top. Then glue on the tree shape. Lastly, glue on the cute footprint ghosts.

You should now have a spooky Halloween tree with ghosts floating around it! Add anything else you'd like to the hand and footprint Halloween collage such as leaves on the ground, stickers, and so on.

Happy Halloween Handprint Ghosts Art Project

My son made the Handprint ghost picture all by himself. First, he painted his left hand white and pressed it where he wanted on the paper. He is one of those kids that always has to everything lined up all perfectly, so all his ghosts are in a mostly straight line!

He made his own facial features using black fingerprints and then wrote "BOO!" across the bottom.

Baby's 1st Halloween Art Project featuring handprint & footprint ghosts

Baby's 1st Halloween Art Project and Keepsake Idea

This will be Baby Girl's 1st Halloween and I was so excited to get her in on the tradition!

I made footprint ghosts with both of her cute, little feet prints and one handprint ghost on orange construction paper. Once dry, I cut the ghost prints out and then glued them in place on black construction paper.

The little bows are made using fingerprint in the middle and a thumbprint on each side.

I printed the words "Baby's 1st Halloween" which I then cut into rectangles around each word. I glued these to colored construction paper and made a colored frame around each word. Then just glue the pieces in place and you're done!

It's so neat to compare it to her Big Brother's 1st Halloween Footprint Ghosts!

Sibling Halloween Craft: Footprint Ghosts

Big Brother - 3 yrs old, Little Sister - 9 months old

Fun Sibling Halloween Craft Idea

We also made a brother/sister sibling Halloween craft to give to Grandma when she comes to visit later this month. You could make handprint or footprint ghosts for this project. How cute would it be if you have more than two kids to have all their prints on one jumbo construction paper to hang up in the home!?
