School Supplies Handprint Craft

Hi! I'm Erica from eLeMeNO-P Kids and I'm so excited to be here sharing a super fun school supplies handprint craft you can make with your kiddos before you send them back to school!

I can't believe it's that time of year already! Where, oh where did summer go so quickly?! I always get a little sad before sending my little one back to school, and look for fun ways to end our summer with a bang. This back to school handprint is super easy to make and a great keepsake to keep at home, a great first day of school activity to use in the classroom, or it would even make a great first day of school sign for your child to hold in their notorious "first day" pictures!

School Supplies Handprint

How to make the School Supplies Handprint Craft

Supplies Needed:

  • Craft paint or washable paint: Red, yellow, green, blue, white, and pink
  • Paintbrush
  • Markers
  • Sharpie marker

Paint the palm of your child's hand green. Then paint each finger a different color. We used: pink/thumb, blue/pointer, white/middle, red/ring, yellow/pinky.

Stamp your child's hand down on a white piece of paper. Let handprint dry completely.

When handprint is dry, use various markers and the Sharpie to turn each finger into a school supply.

  1. Pink Thumb = Eraser
  2. Blue Pointer = Ruler
  3. White Middle = Bottle of Glue
  4. Red Ring = Crayon
  5. Yellow Pinky = Pencil

Feel free to write anything you'd like on the palm of the hand. I chose to just write "Back To School 2015", but you may want to include your child's name, age, and grade on yours.

I hope you enjoy this craft and treasure that little school hand for years to come! I would love it if you dropped by our Facebook Wall to share your school supplies handprints when you are done!
