Have you ever tried to make a human face with child’s handprint? Whether it's a handprint boy, king, or another idea - the possibilities are endless! To go along with our Native American handprints, here is another fun idea - make traced hand pilgrims from paper! This Thanksgiving paper craft project makes an easy pilgrim craft for kindergarten (preschool and 1st grade too!).
Paper Pilgrim Craft Supplies
- construction paper
- googly eyes
- markers
- scissors
- glue
How To Make Traced Hand Pilgrims
First, trace the child's hand on paper with all the fingers in a closed position (next to each other). Cut around the traced hands.
Cut out a black hat for the boys and a white bonnet for the girls from construction paper.
Turn the cut paper hand shapes so the fingers are pointed down. Glue the hats to the top (bottom of the palm). Glue on googly eyes.
Finish by drawing on hair, a nose, and a smile.
We love the simplicity of this Thanksgiving paper craft as well as the fact that you can use hand traced pilgrims in different ways! You can use them on Thanksgiving cards or string them to create a Thanksgiving banner if you add few more hand shaped leaves and turkeys!
